Dusty desert racing for Octane Magazine

Very happy to see my feature on desert racing in the latest issue of Octane magazine. All the research and travelling around California and Arizona paid off. Also gave me the opportunity to do some writing alongside my images which worked out really well.  It was hot, exhausting work out in the deserts but loved every minute of it!

Laboratory shoots

Change of scenery for me lately as I was commissioned by the Wellcome trust to photograph some of the work that takes place at their labs in Cambridge.  Really interesting to witness some of the scientists at work there.  Still struggling to get understand how it all works!?

Sam Sunderland for Red Bulletin magazine

Recent commission for Red Bull and their magazine Red Bulletin.  Flew out to Barcelona to photograph British Dakar-rally winner Sam Sunderland.  Was a knackering but seriously fun shoot, in the blistering heat.  Sam did some great riding, really chuffed to work with such a talented rider. Really happy with the shots and how it looked.

Road racers for Esquire magazine

Really pleased to have been commissioned to shoot the road racers of the Northwest 200 in Northern Ireland.  Always wanted to work with Esquire so really happy to see my work in the magazine.  The racing was really impressive, so exciting to see the riders flying down residential roads, overtaking at well over 190mph.  Got some great quotes and portraits of the riders, such a humble and talented bunch.

Grass, dirt and gears...

Photographed the Red Marley hillclimb in deepest Worcestershire for Classic Bike magazine.  A hectic and seriously fun day of classic dirt bikes and riders racing their way up a massive and terrifyingly steep hill.  Been there a couple times and always love the atmosphere and getting close to the action.

Shoot for Sideburn

New work in the latest issue of Sideburn magazine.  Me and Steve Hillary (aka Mr Redmax) did a shoot in an old barn, which originally housed hundreds of cows, now an indoor dirtrack in deepest Devon.  Setting was great, love the red dirt on the tyres, Steve's custom-built Ducati stood out nicely in its incongruous setting!

Le Mans 24 hours

Got to fulfil a bit of an ambition of mine and covered the Le Mans 24 hour race this year for The Times. First time there, so was a little overwhelmed by the sheer size and atmosphere of it all.  Got to spend a lot of time in and around the pits which was exactly what I wanted. The race was as crazy and eventful as it ever has been!  Hope I get to cover it next year!
